Sloppy Joes
Prep Time: 5 mins
Cook Time: 30 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Serves: 4
Ingredients
1 lb Ground Beef
½ Green Bell Pepper (OR spice it up with a Poblano Pepper)
2 tbsp Garlic Oil
6 oz Tomato Paste
1 cup Water
1 tbsp Leek - minced
2 tsp GF Worcester
2 tsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Fody Chicken Soup Base
½ tsp Black Pepper
½ tsp Paprika or Smoked Paprika (OR spice it up with Chipotle Powder)
Instructions
Prep. Start by dicing your pepper and mincing your leek.
Brown. Place a large skillet over high heat and IMMEDIATELY add meat to the cold pan. Break up your beef and add the peppers. Saute for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently. Then add 2 tablespoons of garlic oil along with your minced leeks and saute for another 2-3 minutes, still stirring frequently.
Add. Once your beef is browned, add tomato paste and fry for a couple of minutes, then add water. Next add: Worcester, sugar, Fody, pepper, and paprika.
Simmer. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes or until water has evaporated and mixture has thickened.
Serve. I like to serve my sloppy joes on a steamed gluten free bun with mayo and cheese.
ENJOY!
